Libby and Mike were wonderful hosts and couldn't do enough for us. The cottage is absolutely beautiful and kept immaculately clean. We enjoyed looking out into the stunning garden from our room, and Libby made us a sterling breakfast each morning with home made jam and bread! Would definitely recommend for a relaxing break in the countryside, it was exceptionally quiet and peaceful. If you are active, there are some Forestry England trails not far away, and we were only a short drive to Bodmin where there were restaurants and of course the old jail attraction! - From Jane who stayed in August 2021 'Your band b at Cardinham was the best place to stay: the charm of the rooms, level of comfort , spectacular and generous breakfasts all exceeded expectation . And you and your husband were warm, interesting and delightful hosts. Please feel free to quote me – and if I should post myself, then please send me a link or two. Also the location was just great – for tranquillity and for ease of access to most of Cornwall!
- From Andrea who stayed in our double room, July 2020 “Libby and Mikes beautiful home is very clean and homely. The full English was delicious and nothing was too much trouble. Their garden is stunning and I could have spent hours looking at their flowers. WIFI was strong enough to work from the double bedroom. TV was there and worked well but you’ll find you don’t use it because the garden is far more interesting. It’s about 5mins drive in to Bodmin and 25 mins to Fowey beach. There’s a pretty church 2 mins walk away if you fancy stretching your legs. If you use a taxi make sure you agree a price before the journey. We paid £9 to £21.80 for the same journey in to Bodmin with the same firm. There’s a number of places to eat in Bodmin the two we tried were very good. We booked a table prior, due to COVID-19. I strongly recommend The Old School House if you need to stay near Bodmin and will definitely book again.”
- From Joshua who stayed in The Bothy in September 2020. “Honestly couldn't rate the experience high enough. A fantastic host with a delightful property, you owe it to yourself to stay here. The whole stay there was impeccable.”
- Mr & Mrs H, from Bexhill-on-sea. East Sussex, 'Thank you for your warm and friendly reception and the personal knowledge and advice. We greatly enjoyed our stay with you and found the room and breakfasts well above our expectations. We have no reservations in recommending you to our friends and family and next time we come to Cornwall for a visit we have you on our great places to stay list. Thank you for your hospitality and hope to see you again in the future.'

- I stayed at the Old Schoolhouse for 4 nights, each morning my wonderfully cooked breakfast was shared with the birds from inside the warm Orangery, afterwards 15 minutes in the beautiful garden set me up for a relaxed day. On return it was a pleasure to open my room and find it had had the touch that only my mum had previously been able to do,my bed was warmed by the electric blanket and all tea, coffee and chocolate, complete with lovely Cornish biscuits awaited me. When I left it was hard not to say " goodbye mum "

- “If you want to stay in a lovely part of the country, in a beautiful house, and be looked after by an exceptional host... then this is the place for you! As we were on a flying visit to Cornwall to visit the Eden Project, we only needed to stay for one night, but really wished it could have been more! Libby is an amazing host, very gracious and nothing was too much trouble. As a guest, you have a private double room with en-suite bathroom, TV, tea and coffee making facilities (several different kinds of both available!) and everything is spotlessly clean. I loved the little extra thoughtful touches Libby provided. You also have full access to a large conservatory, where breakfast was served, this was substantial and very tasty. We really enjoyed our stay, in this very peaceful and tranquil setting, and would most certainly stay again, I would Throughly Recommend a stay at the Old School House to everyone!” Helen & Ian
- We could tell that Libby is a very experienced BnB host, as the whole process was seamless. The room is comfortable, warm and clean, and the cooked breakfast was delicious! We enjoyed watching the birds and small creatures in the beautiful garden. Thanks for having us!
Claire, London, United Kingdom December 2018 - I had a lovely stay at The Bothy, Bodmin. Libby was the perfect hostess, the place was outstandingly clean and the breakfast divine (especially the home made granola!). The location was perfect for exploring all that Cornwall has to offer and I would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended if you are a single person planning a short stay, or longer holiday, in Cornwall. A+
Bernadette, England, 2019 - Umit says 'Amazing place to stay with beautiful scenery!”
- Phillip stayed in The Bothy ' The Bothy is a delightful spot....even a bolt hole for the solo traveller. Providing single accommodation with all the home comforts without being intrusive. Very welcoming hospitality from hosts Libby and Mike with accommodation set aside from the old schoolhouse and with a picturesque setting with outside seating seating. A super breakfast choice and local information on hand to plan onward travel. Highly recommended'.
- Paul writes “I had a great stay at The Bothy. Libby was lovely -polite, friendly and welcoming without being intrusive. The accommodation itself was small, as described, but was absolutely fine for one person. Self-contained and only a few metres from the main house, it contained everything that you could need, with some nice touches like cotton buds in the bathroom and a torch in the bedside drawer. It was a cold night, but the heater in the room was adequate and it was a nice surprise to find an electric blanket on the bed. Breakfast was delicious -full English with locally sourced ingredients with fruit, yoghurt, cereals, home made bread all to hand. Thanks Libby for as very comfortable stay
